Well, my name is Rowan McCarthy and I come from Wilmington, NC. I was born there and have basically lived there my whole life besides the glorious six months I spent in Barbados when I was around the ripe old age of five. Wilmington seems to be a pretty popular place to come from around here because it has the beach of course. It is funny because for the longest time growing up in Wilmington, I did not enjoy the beach whatsoever. Whenever my friends would invite me to go I would either just shoot them down or come up with whatever lie I could come up with to get out of it. As the years passed I learned to appreciate the beach and spent much more time there over the high school years. It was a great place to go during the summer, especially Masonboro Island on the 4th of July when hundreds of people would flock to the island to drink and enjoy the good summer times.
I think it is going to be difficult to me to come with ideas for my blog later on this semester, but I am confident I will figure it out. I will write about some of my humorous experiences or something... but if anyone has any suggestions just let me know.
